On 22 September, Security and Defense Committee member MP Shirwan al-Doberdani told Ultra Iraq that weapons held by factions outside the Popular Mobilization Commission should be regulated and placed under state control. He called for a transition from resistance and weapons to construction, reconstruction and use of Iraq’s resources.
