Iraq faces no arms-purchase veto, shafaq.com reports

WHAT HAPPENED

On 3 October, shafaq.com quoted Parliamentary Security and Defence Committee deputy chair Ahmad Kain al-Khazali saying Iraq was diversifying its arms suppliers without a veto on purchases from any major power. Speaking on the sidelines of a Sadiqoun forum (AAH — political movement) in Najaf, he said Iraq was not at odds with any country, considered all allies, and dealt with them on an equal and credible basis.
