Maliki tells US envoy a Framework weapons committee is formed

WHAT HAPPENED

In a meeting with the US chargé d'affaires in Baghdad, State of Law coalition head Nouri al-Maliki said the Coordination Framework had formed a committee to restrict weapons to state control which would begin work soon in coordination with the government, and that the state and its constitutional institutions are the reference for managing security and military files. Badr's Al-Ghadeer TV, KH-affiliated Sabereen News and KSS-affiliated Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi carried the "state institutions are the reference" formulation; only AAH's Al-Ahad TV carried the sentence announcing the committee, which also appeared in Iraqi News Agency reporting.
