KH and KSS channels refer Khamis al-Khanjar to Iraqi state bodies

WHAT HAPPENED

On the morning of 23 August, Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi (KSS — affiliated) accused Khamis al-Khanjar of sectarian incitement and stirring discord through his channels in Iraq, and called on the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures. Forty minutes later Unit 10,000 (KH — affiliated) posted material it captioned as the remnants of "the terrorist al-Khanjar" and the upbringing of al-Ani, and addressed copies to the Communications and Media Commission, the National Security Service and PMF Security. The two posts use different wording and neither reproduces the other, so the rung rests on the convergence of two independent channels rather than on any shown common origin.

Sectarian incitement and the stirring of discord are being carried out by Khamis al-Khanjar through his channels and mouthpieces in Iraq; therefore we call on the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures against these mercenaries.

WHY IT MATTERS

Naming the Communications and Media Commission, the National Security Service and PMF Security in a public post is an attempt to move a media dispute into administrative and legal channels the factions influence, which is how licences and broadcast permissions get contested rather than how arguments get won.
