On 6 September, FAA (Ansar Allah al-Awfiya — official) said the 19th PMF Brigade’s field-engineering unit was conducting night training during its second counter-explosives course at Akashat on the Iraqi-Syrian border. It said the course was intended to improve field readiness, skill, discipline and vigilance. Dark photographs show armed or uniformed men undertaking nighttime activities, but do not establish the unit, location or nature of the equipment.
