Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official) and Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official) reported within about a minute of each other this morning that the National Security Service in Basra dismantled a forgery network that had taken billions of dinars. Al-Ittijah alone carried the detail: an elementary-school director arrested over falsified compensation transactions for land at the West Qurna oil field, thirty-six official government and tribal seals seized, and residential property allegedly acquired from the proceeds. Visual review of the accompanying image shows three blurred detainees in yellow jumpsuits before a National Security Service backdrop with cash, documents and stamps displayed.

The case concerns forged government and tribal seals used against oil-field land-compensation files in Basra, the machinery through which land and crossings money is actually moved, and it is being publicised by the two networks closest to the security services.
