Al-Ahad expands Investment Authority arrest reporting

WHAT HAPPENED

On August 24, Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official), Shabab al-Islam (Ashab al-Kahf — owned/non-official), Watan TV (Badr Organization — affiliated) and Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi (KSS — affiliated) reported in near-identical terms that the Investment Authority legal-department director had been arrested on corruption charges. Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) identified the official as Sura Alaa and separately reported the arrest of former Investment Authority director-general Saad Jamil Huwaidi; none of the reports named the arresting agency or supplied a judicial record.
