On 19 September, independent politician Hussein al-Shalakh, speaking on Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official), said factions should not cause a blockade of Iraq, called them a current stumbling block despite their history and sacrifices, and urged placing them under a legal provision. He rejected allegations that he had received Saudi money and invited Iraqi intelligence and national-security bodies to investigate him. These were al-Shalakh’s remarks as a guest, not an AAH statement.
